Mary Kay is so much more than just selling lipstick. It is
about changing lives-YOURS to start with!
Noelle Jensen
My life changed forever when my sister called me up in Jan.
2006 and told me she was going to sell MK. I laughed and told her she was making
a mistake. I even tried to talk her out of it! She kindly told me that while
she appreciated my insights she was determined to try anyway, and try she
did-her first month she sold over $4000 profiting $2000 in 4 weeks. Despite my
best efforts I was impressed. I had gone to school for Interior Design and ran
my own business and I certainly did not make money like that!
Still I was stubborn, not even allowing her to facial me
because I was convinced what I was using was "good enough!"
That all changed the evening she came over and had glowing
skin that I had been vainly trying to purchase a product to achieve. When I
asked her what her secret was she replied with a knowing twinkle; "it's
Mary Kay." Chagrined I agreed to sit down for a facial and try it all
myself. The next week I went to my appointment not expecting too much and ended
up falling in LOVE! I loved the way my skin looked and felt so I bought it ALL!
(My sister loved me after that!) I faithfully enjoyed using the products daily
and continued to see amazing results. Interior Design clients commented on my
skin, and noticed the circles under my eyes were nearly gone, women at church
commented on my glow, even my husband noticed!
I looked and felt like a million bucks.
Four months later my sister called me up and asked if I
would be willing to do her a favor and listen to the company information. I
brutally told her I was definitely NOT interested and asked her if it would
really help. She said yes. So after much hemming and hawing I agreed. I made an
appt. to meet with her and her director at the same time I was getting my
haircut (my sister is a hairdresser). I half hoped she wouldn't show up, but
the director did in fact show up. The first thing she told me was what I had made
my sister PROMISE to tell her before I would
agree to do the appointment. She must tell her director that I was NOT
interested in selling MK. Her director assured me that it was really helpful to
my sister for me to hear the information and to not worry about selling at that
point. My sister began to cut and I began to listen. But I found I could not
concentrate on the info because I was much more interested in what my sister
was doing to my hair. (we were trying a new haircut) I nodded my head in all the
right places but all the info was going in one ear and out the other. Finally
the interview was over and my haircut was too. Her director told me she LOVED
my new haircut and I while still trying to decide whether I liked it or not I
thought; "she will say anything to get me to sell this stuff." Out
loud I told her; "I need to talk to my husband." She asked if she
could call tomorrow.
I agreed-thinking I will just have to tell her no over the
phone.
I took home the info and figured that would be the end of
it. What I didn't count on was that my husband would read the information and
see all the possibilities. After much discussion of why I couldn't do this
business, I finally agreed to have my sister's Director over. I figured that I
would simply show my husband what a bad idea this was. After grilling the
Director for an hour, I realized that the worst case scenario was that I would
get my product at cost. The best case scenario was that I would earn cars,
trips and jewels. That never happened to anyone I knew, but I figured that I
would just enjoy the product discount.
After tracking my sales for one month, I realized that I was
making three times the amount with Mary Kay than I was making with my interior
design job and I was having way more fun! My husband encouraged me just a few
short weeks after joining the company to attend Seminar with my sister. I went
to Texas on a shoestring budget and came back with a million dollar dream.
Once I was home I got to work and earned my very first car
by May 2007! That July I went across stage for the prestigious Queen's Court of
Sales, picked up a beautiful 9 carat ring as one of my accolades and was second
runner up for Queen in our National Area. A year and a half later we debuted as
a brand new unit in 2 months with 11 new recruits our first month and another
new car!
In our first 6 months as a new unit we placed #1 in our
National Area, #7 in our DIQ class in the Nation,
and earned our first car as a unit!
Then in March of 2010 we promoted ourselves to Premier Club
status by earning our 4th FREE car! We ended the seminar 2009-2010 year with a
bang when we came from behind and placed #2 in our National Area our first year
as a unit and were awarded Rookie of the Year! Currently we are working on our
5th FREE CAR; the prestigious PINK Cadiallac and plan on finishing #1 in the
2010-2011 seminar year!
Everyday I wake up and think I am so privileged to work with
the AMAZING women in my unit.
Women of honesty and integrity-who love MK like I do and
have a desire to dream BIGGER!
